About the ACSE New Orleans Branch

The ASCE New Orleans Branch was founded in 1962 and is part of the Louisiana Section, District 14, Zone II of ASCE. The N.O. Branch consists of the composite areas of the parishes of Terrebonne, Lafourche, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Charles, Jefferson,Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Tammany and Washington. With more than 740 members, the N.O. Branch is the largest of the four branches of the Louisiana Section.

The N.O. Branch is governed by a Board of Directors, which includes a President, President-Elect, and other officers and directors elected annually in May. Three Technical Committees (Environmental & Water Resources, Geotechnical and Structures) regularly present meetings and seminars for technical and professional improvement.

The Younger Members Committee plans and executes programs for members age 35 and under. Two college Student Chapters, at Tulane and the University of New Orleans, are part and participants in activities of the N.O. Branch.

The N.O. Branch annually presents the Louisiana Civil Engineering Conference and Show in conjunction with the ACI Louisiana Chapter. This two-day seminar includes a trade show, product demonstrations and a variety of professional development and networking opportunities.

Membership in the N.O. Branch is limited to members of the American Society of Civil Engineers who either reside or work in the geographic territory of the Branch. Non-members are welcome at most functions and activities of the N.O. Branch but may be asked to pay a greater admission fee.
