Presents

Free Flow Power

On Free Flow Power: Free Flow Power (FFP) focuses on growing hydropower. We acquire, develop and manage hydropower and hydrokinetic facilities to generate clean renewable energy from flowing water. We are deploying hydrokinetic generators in the Mississippi River Basin with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers licenses. With 80 sites on the Mississippi River and 17 sites on the Atchafalaya River, the projects meet regional demand for renewable energy with a total capacity greater than 1,000MW.

Our value is:
* For Electricity Consumers: Carbon-free electricity with greater reliability and lower cost than other renewable energy sources.

* For Our Project Owners: An integrated approach to licensing, engineering, and finance to capture value and address challenges quickly and cost effectively.

* For Our Investors: Exposure to a valuable yet overlooked renewable energy sector that provides opportunities for rapid growth.

Jon Guidroz, Director of Project Development, joined Free Flow Power in 2008 from Evolution Markets’ Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) trading desk where he worked with developers, utilities, and regulatory bodies engaged in the market for RECs. A native of New Orleans, Mr. Guidroz also brings three years of management consulting experience with a focus on presenting to, building relationships with, and advising Fortune 500 and other corporations on a wide range of business challenges. Mr. Guidroz also served as a product spokesperson with Proctor & Gamble. He holds a B.A. from George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Relations. Mr. Guidroz staffs FFP’s New Orleans, Louisiana office.

Additionally, the ASCE New Orleans Branch will present its 2010-2011 slate of nominations for membership election.  The slate of officers for nomination are provided below the luncheon details.

Finally, the ASCE New Orleans Branch Geotechnical Committee would like to poll the New Orleans Branch Membership to gauge interest in various geotechnical topics. The survey results will be used by the geotechnical committee to arrange for technical presentations and seminars and be used to as a guide for developing a geotechnical track at our fall conference. While the Geotech Committee strives to provide continuing education opportunities for our geotechnical community, this survey is not just for geotechnical engineers.  All of us interact with geotechnical engineers as the foundation for our projects.

Please take the time to complete this short survey on what topics would be of interest to you by May 21st.
