Dr. Bengt Fellenius, a world-wide expert on pile foundations, will be making a rare appearance in New Orleans to conduct this short course. Dr. Fellenius’ professional experience comes from a wide variety of assignments that encompass foundation design for industrial plants, water and sewage treatment facilities, bridges and highway projects, marine structures, and urban area development, as well as participation in special investigations, instrumented field tests, etc. He has given lectures and courses to several universities and international conferences throughout America, Europe, South-East Asia, and Australia. Dr. Fellenius is also the author of hundreds of technical papers, and is a frequent presenter at conferences, universities, and seminars the world over.

Dr. Fellenius will present case histories, and attendees will receive course notes, selected technical papers, and a reference list. This course is intended for geotechnical and structural engineers who are engaged in the design of pile foundations and their connections. The course will also be of interest to other engineers, contractors, architects, and students.

This short course will precede the 4th International Conference on Grouting and Deep Mixing, organized by the International Conference Organization for Grouting (ICOG) and the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) that is being held in New Orleans.
