SMART STRUCTURES
Would you like for project elements to tell you that they are deterioting and are on verge of failing? Tell you when they require maintenance? This can be done through Stuctural Health Monitoring. Many new developments have occurred in structural health monitoring (SHM) over the last few years, particularly in the area of fiber optic instrumentation in civil engineering.
This presentation will focus on the following applications:
- Bridge Monitoring
- Levee Monitoring
- Pipeline Monitoring
- Offshore Platform monitoring
Joe Church and his firm are SHM solutions specialists and have worked on projects thoughout the world. He will present information on state of the art monitoring systems, traditional instrumentation systems, and case studies. He has worked on SHM instrumentation planning and installation on projects like the I-35 Bridge Replacement in Minnesotta and Levee Monitoring Projects in New Orleans and the Netherlands.
