Description

ASCE NEW ORLEANS BRANCH PRESENTS

ENGINEER'S WEEK 2010

FEBRUARY 14 - 20

The National Engineers Week Foundation, a formal coalition of more than 100 professional societies, major corporations and government agencies, is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers among young students and by promoting pre-college literacy in math and science. Engineers Week also raises public understanding and appreciation of engineers' contributions to society.

ASCE will be chairing Engineers Week in 2010, the third time it has done so, and its corporate partner will be ExxonMobil.

Locally, the New Orleans Branch is providing an opportunity for our membership to give back to the community.  We will be joining with LES to landscape at the Children's Playground near the Peristyle at City Park.  Everyone will meet at the Timken Center (Old Casino Building) on Dreyfus at 9 am.  Click here for a map of City Park.

The event will last from 9 AM 12 Noon.  Everyone should wear old clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.  Tools and gloves will be provided.  Family members and friends are welcome.  Snacks and drinks will be provided
