Please join the LES New Orleans Chapter at the UNO Alumni Center on February 18, 2010. LTC Mark D. Jernigan, Deputy District Engineer for the USACE will be addressing programs across the board that encompass the New Orleans District. LTC Jernigan was assigned as deputy commander of the New Orleans District of the US Army Corps of Engineers on June 13, 2008. LTC Jernigan was previously deuputy commander of the Albuquerque District, served in Task Force Hope during the Hurricane Rita and Katrina response and recovery and also served as the Area Engineer at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.

Description
The UNO Alumni Center is located in the back of the UNO Lakefront Campus. Click here for a location map.
From I-10 take the Elysian Fields exit, heading north towards Lake Pontchartrain. After passing through the Leon C. Simon Boulevard intersection, turn left onto the campus at Alumni Drive. Continue down Alumni Drive and turn right on Milneburg Road. Continue down Milneburg Road until you see the historic smokestack on your left. The Homer L. Hitt Alumni & Visitors Center surrounds the historic smokestack.
